Slomin’s wanted to capture the growing demographic of home owners who would prefer a “call on demand” service for their home heating oil versus a year long “set priced” contract.

Create a brand and website for Slomin’s new service called LowPriceOil.com.
This new business operating under the Slomin’s umbrella must gather customer information for future marketing and for service availability and provide a seamless online experience for the customer. The goal is to have virtually no interaction with customer and employee, unless necessary.

The challenge was to create a logo, gather customer information and provide a seamless customer experience via a new website.
The goal here is to keep this site as simple and informative as possible. By keeping everything on one page, the customer doesn’t have to go far for more information. By keeping the entire process down to three steps, it keeps the entire experience easy on the customer, while allowing for easy customer information capture for follow-ups and up-sells.

Study the competition and improve! What I found through looking at what our competition was doing and weren’t doing was keeping it simple. They would often integrate this service into their pre-existing site or had too many unnecessary steps
So I streamlined the process. Most info about the products and the company will be on the main page, easily accessible via navigation. Just one CTA that leads them through the process of eligibility and oil price. From there it’s just a couple steps where LowPriceOil.com gathers customer information, customers find out their low price and can schedule a delivery, and purchase and have it installed the next day by a trained technician. The creation of this new service led to an additional source of revenue of approximately $5.7 million in the first year of launch.
